Winner of the Nikolai Rubinstein Piano Competition and a pupil of Maria João Pires and Dmitri Alexeev, award-winning Russian-born British pianist Petr Limonov is increasingly sought after as a soloist worldwide. His notable appearances include the La Roque d’Anthéron Festival, Belgais Center for Arts, Wigmore Hall, Southbank Centre, Cadogan Hall, Salle Cortot, Kolarac Hall, Romanian Athenaeum, Lerici Music Festival, the Great Hall of Moscow Conservatory, a solo recital in The Duke’s Hall for His Majesty King Charles III, TV appearances on BBC Proms Extra and Podium Witteman, and broadcasts for BBC Radio 3 and Radio France Musique. Recent engagements include concerto appearances with the Georges Enescu Philharmonic Orchestra and the Belgrade Philharmonic Orchestra, as well as performing Rachmaninov’s Third Piano Concerto at Queen Elizabeth Hall (London) with the CCO.
Petr has recorded for Decca, Onyx Classics, Chandos, and Champs Hill labels. Over the years, he has shared the stage with Maria João Pires, Nicola Benedetti, Alfred Brendel, Laura van der Heijden, Gabriel Feltz, Paul Goodwin, Michael Seal, Jennifer Pike, and Leonard Elschenbroich, among others.

Born in Moscow, Petr began playing the piano at the age of five and started his studies at the Central Music School a year later. After winning First Prize at the Nikolai Rubinstein International Piano Competition in Paris, he began giving concerts throughout Europe and Russia. He went on to study with Alexander Satz and Hamish Milne at the Royal Academy of Music (London) on a full scholarship. In 2010, Petr commenced his postgraduate studies at the Royal College of Music with Dmitri Alexeev. During his studies, he participated in masterclasses with Ferenc Rados, Alfred Brendel, Stephen Hough, Vitaly Margulis, and Stephen Kovacevich. While at the RCM, he also studied conducting with Peter Stark.
